Vicky's Choice Horseman Classes Age 9+
Start groundwork and riding with confidence and safety in mind, with a trained instructor.
Service Description
*Schedule orientation lesson first** This class is great for those to try more after attending a camp, or those that want to have more time for questions, or are starting or restarting and are a bit intimidated. This is a welcoming, learner centered class. You will receive a checklist to hit markers, basic horse anatomy, tack parts, safety protocols and grooming. This is a great group to start for new or intimidated riders but not required, we also offer one on one options and kids only groups. Sessions might be based more on grooming, or wrapping legs, or safe bathing and tying practices, nuances to tacking and more. Your lesson will be tailored to you while you share the hour with one other student. This class is designed for riders and horse lovers who want to dive deeper into all aspects of horsemanship—not just riding. Each session is “Vicky’s Choice”, with the theme and focus changing week to week to give students a broad, well-rounded education. You might: Practice grooming and horse anatomy in detail Spend the session working on 2-point position or even a canter class (if students are ready) Learn catching, haltering, and handling safely Try your hand at lunging a fellow student’s horse Help with foal handling and halter breaking Assist in basic horse care, such as treating minor injuries Sometimes the focus will be in the barn, other times in the arena—and often both. Riding may be part of the lesson, but not always. Either way, you’ll leave with new skills, knowledge, and confidence around horses. This class is perfect for: New riders wanting more barn time and horse education Returning horsemen looking to refresh skills Anyone who loves learning about horses in a hands-on, budget-friendly way $40 per class (with qualification) / $50 general public 1 hour 15 minutes per or book all 4 in advance over 65 days and save.
